I am an observer and dreamer, interested in the potential of art. I have studied Theory of Culture, Economics, Art Management, and Art Curatorship. In my previous (stage of) life I have worked in business and government consulting, administration and project management (pharmaceuticals), community leadership, arts and cultural development and art journalism. That experience contributes to the approach I take in curatorial practice along with my interest in philosophy, social theory and media studies. My curatorial practice is broadly concerned with communication (see, for instance, www.telematiccafe.net).
This blog is created to reflect thoughts and discussion points on culture and art from my experiences, my travels and life between the two worlds: Eastern Europe – Latvia, and Australia. In 2017, I embarked on practice-based research (PhD) for curatorial design with Monash University (AU) – since then, my posts reflect thinking and reading in frames of this research.
